learnd executes the next step in its strategy to become the largest and most relevant energy management company in Europe by acquiring Complete Energy Controls (CEC) – Scotland’s leading BMS & Energy Management provider.
Today, Tuesday 2 May 2023, learnd announce the acquisition of CEC, Scotland’s leading BMS & Energy Management provider. The acquisition brings a significant number of buildings in sectors such as Healthcare, Retail, Government, Leisure and Commercial – adding significant energy capacity upon which learnd’s unique technology can be used to reduce energy consumption, undertake load management and demand response. CEC also adds vast remote and in-field engineering experience and capability to further enhance learnd’s delivery capability.
The global energy landscape is changing dramatically – large-scale adoption of renewable generation and energy security issues have created the need for a European-wide provider of load management and demand response. learnd’s approach leverages the building management systems within buildings to manage large numbers of buildings with almost zero touch.
learnd’s energy management strategy provides value to customers at each stage, saving energy, cost & carbon for building owners/operators, whilst enabling the large-scale transition to a net-zero energy grid.
As a private company, learnd scaled to managing 1 in 20 large non-residential UK buildings and demonstrated a proven track record of margin expanding inorganic and organic growth, with post-acquisition EBITDA growth of 248%*. The acquisition of CEC represents the next step on this journey which learnd intend to accelerate as a public company following their listing in January 2023. learnd’s vision is a world where the energy capacity within buildings can be leveraged to allow the net-zero transition – creating enormous cost, energy and carbon savings for customers and the world as a whole. As a public company, learnd will not stop until all buildings are connected and it becomes the most relevant and profitable contributor to the net-zero challenge across Europe and beyond.
