Our purpose is to create a world where all buildings deliver outcomes for everyone, from making energy savings and reducing your carbon emissions, to flexing your spaces to meet changing needs.

We do this by combining technology with vast engineering capabilities, a comprehensive service offering and field resource, and market-leading partners.

We’re already looking after one in 20 large, non-residential buildings in the UK from hospitals and schools, to workplaces, data centres and shopping centres.

From our first jobs in the industry, we’ve always wanted to find a way to help people get more from their buildings. This is even more pressing when we consider the climate and energy crises.

We realised that if we wanted to challenge the status quo and help buildings become smarter, greener and better connected, we would need to do it from the inside.

Our vision is simple: to help our customers make energy savings and reduce their carbon emissions by optimising their legacy building technology or installing new ones.

Since our launch, we have acquired seven highly respected companies in the industry which, combined with strong and sustainable organic growth, has enabled us to become market leader across the UK and Ireland.

Charlotte brings over a decade of financial and strategic expertise, providing clear direction and commercial insight across learnd. She’s focused on building a financially strong, efficient, and continuously improving organisation.

Most of the energy expended in buildings is used to heat or cool and provide ventilation, and it is controlled by your building technology.

At learnd, we’re offering customers the insights they need and the control they want over their buildings. Everything from making energy savings and reducing their carbon emissions, to flexing their buildings to meet changing needs from hybrid working to better patient outcomes.

Reducing our footprint

As a business with UK-wide reach, we’re aiming to reduce our emissions in fuel driven cars by 25% across our company car fleet by 2023.

We’ve already made a good start, offering employees eligible for a company car the option of a Tesla Model 3 Long-Range and installing Schneider Electric vehicle charging stations at our offices across the UK.

We also encourage car sharing and Cycle to Work schemes, and challenge our employees to find low carbon routes to visit our sites and customers.

BCIA MEMBERS

The BCIA is a single voice, representing a growing and dynamic building controls and BEMS sector in the UK. The BCIA has a number of key functions that support its members including, lobbying, providing training, providing market insights and providing a platform for shared interests.

ISO9001

ISO9001 is a certified quality management system (QMS) for organisations who want to prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers and other relevant stakeholders.

ISO14001

ISO14001 is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. This helps to control your environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance.

SMAS SSIP

SMAS is the main health and safety assessment scheme used by UK construction companies, and is a member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Forum – a network of assessment bodies dedicated to ensuring accredited bodies hold themselves to the highest standards of health and safety.

SAFE CONTRACTOR

Safecontractor is a leading accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors. Safecontractor is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacture, property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors.

NICEIC

NICEIC’s Approved Contractor Scheme is designed to maintain and publish a register of electrical contractors that have been assessed against a specific set of competency requirements, in particular the national electrical safety standard BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations).

CONSTRUCTIONLINE

Constructionline is the UK’s leading procurement and supply chain management service that collects, assesses and monitors standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91, the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by BSI to reduce duplication within the construction industry.

EU COC FOR DATA CENTRES

The European Code of Conduct for Data Centres programme is a voluntary initiative managed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s in-house science service. The CoC exists to inform and stimulate operators and owners to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective manner without hampering the critical function of data centres.

CDM EUROSAFE

The Eurosafe UK CDM Competent Scheme is a health and safety assessment exercise based on the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015 and other workplace related legislation.

MOD SECURITY CLEARED

We have members of staff that have been Security Checked by the UKSV to work within MOD sites. Security Clearance is needed to protect against threats from hostile intelligence services, cyber security threats, terrorists and other pressure groups and is a prerequisite for working on MOD sites.

DISCLOSURE & BARRING SERVICE

Our engineers are checked by the DBS using their Standard check. These checks identify any criminal convictions, both spent and unspent, cautions, warnings and reprimands. These checks are vital for working in schools, hospitals and other sensitive areas.

SKILL CARD

All our engineers carry SKILL cards, the industry-recognised card scheme for people working in the mechanical sector of the building services engineering industry throughout the UK.

CMVP

The Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) is the exclusive global training body for the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional® (CMVP). EVO developed and owns the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol® (IPMVP) and training material used with the CMVP examination.
